You Don't Have a Discernment Problem. You Have a Wiring Problem.

September 23, 2026

Everything sounds true these days if it's said with enough confidence. The counterfeit doesn't announce itself — it borrows the same words, the same tone, sometimes even the same Scriptures as the real thing. So the question isn't really “why can't I tell what's true anymore?” It's “was I ever actually taught how?”

Read

"But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."

— Hebrews 5:14

The Argument

Notice what that verse doesn't say. It doesn't say discernment belongs to the specially gifted. It says discernment belongs to those who “by reason of use” have trained their senses — a skill built through practice, not a sixth sense some people are born with and others aren't.

That's the whole premise behind The Discernment Code, Book Two of Prince Nnanna's Formation Series. Book One of that series names the channels — political, educational, ecclesial, technological — that quietly wire a person's beliefs before they ever consented to them. Book Two picks up exactly where that leaves off:

"If Book One shows you the wiring, Book Two teaches you to read it — the working, repeatable skill of telling the authentic from the manufactured, the Spirit from the simulation, the voice of truth from every voice that has only ever borrowed its authority."

Discernment, in other words, isn't a feeling you wait for. It's an instrument you learn to use.

Why This Matters to You

If you've ever walked away from a conversation, a sermon, or a piece of advice feeling vaguely uneasy but unable to say why — that unease is worth taking seriously. It's often your senses trying to flag something they haven't yet been trained to name. The goal isn't to become suspicious of everything. It's to become someone who can actually tell the difference, on purpose, instead of guessing.

A Question to Sit With

Think of the last time something felt “off” even though you couldn't explain why. What would it look like to actually learn how to name what your senses were picking up?

The Discernment Code: Seeing Beyond Behavior — How the Spirit of God Gives Complete Knowledge of Human Nature hands you that instrument in full. It pairs naturally with Book One, The Systems That Shape You, if you want the fuller picture of what's being discerned in the first place.
