SPIRITISM
The Spiritual Weather of the Modern Church
THE SPIRIT YOU CANNOT SEE IS THE ONE YOU MOST NEED TO KNOW.
There is a sentence heard more and more in the house of God: Do not reason. Just receive. It sounds like faith. It is not what the Bible teaches, and it has led sincere people into harm, from private prayer consultations that drain bank accounts to the Shakahola forest in Kenya, where 191 people, nearly all of them children, died under a man who claimed to speak for the Spirit.
SPIRITISM is a Bible-first answer. In 59 chapters across ten Parts, Prince Nnanna does two things that belong together.
First, he sets out who the Holy Ghost is, from the King James Bible alone. He is a Person, not a force. He is God, not merely a gift from God. He was present at creation, upon the prophets, and in the life of Christ. He was promised in the upper room, poured out at Pentecost, given to every believer, and sent to make much of Jesus. Then the book answers the questions believers actually ask. How does He guide? Is tongues for everyone? What is the anointing, and who has it? How is He grieved or quenched? What is the sin against the Holy Ghost, and have I committed it? Can He be lost? What should I make of falling, shaking, and prophetic words?
Second, he names what he calls spiritism: the pursuit of spiritual power, experience, and access apart from the formation of Christ. He traces it through prayer, fasting, tongues, manifestations, money, the untouchable minister, and the church that celebrates signs but neglects obedience. Then he shows how to test every spirit without quenching the true One.
Inside you will find:
• Twelve plain statements about the Holy Ghost that a child can follow and a scholar cannot outgrow
• Eighteen chapters devoted to the Person and work of the Holy Ghost, ending with plain answers to twenty hard questions
• Five tests for any spiritual claim: Christ, the Word, fruit, order, and what the practice forms in people
• The author’s own first-person testimony of escaping a false prophet’s grip
• Two pastoral letters, one to the wounded and one to those who have wounded
• Reflection questions at the end of every chapter, suitable for personal study, families, and small groups
This is not an attack on any people. It is a prophetic burden, written in the fear of the LORD, for believers who want to love the Holy Ghost enough to know Him.
Come, let us reason together.
