WHO IS JESUS CHRIST?

The Plain Testimony of Scripture from Genesis to Revelation, and How to Recognize a False Christ

KJVScripture Only

On Monday, 19 October 2026, a High Court in Kenya gave its verdict in the case of the Shakahola Forest. The court found the preacher Paul Mackenzie and others guilty of murder over the deaths of 190 children and one adult.

Prosecutors told the court that these people had been taught to starve themselves, and to starve their children, so that they could reach heaven and meet Jesus before the world ended. Hundreds of bodies were taken from the ground of that forest. Very many of them were children.

One father, holding a photograph of his family, told reporters that all six of his children had died there. He said the teaching had first reached his home through a television set.

I will not dress this in softer words. Those children did not choose what happened to them. They were handed a false Jesus by adults they trusted. And many of the adults who walked into that forest believed, to the end, that they were walking toward Him.

Not Fools

It is easy to say that the people who followed were foolish. Do not say it. People who are drawn into a deadly deception are rarely fools. They are very often sincere. They are hungry for God, afraid for their families, and glad to hear the name of Jesus spoken with confidence.

What most of them lacked was not sincerity. It was a plain, firm knowledge of who Jesus Christ is and what He actually said. Where that knowledge is missing, a confident voice can fill the gap with anything at all. A counterfeit is believed in exactly the place where the real thing is not known.

That is why this book cannot wait. The question on its cover is not a question for scholars. It is a question that decides whether a mother feeds her child or does not.

Not Only One Forest

Shakahola is the worst of its kind in recent memory, but it is not alone. Other pastors have told their members to eat grass and to swallow live snakes, and have called it faith. People did what they were told, and some were gravely hurt.

The places and the names are different. The root is the same: a man standing in the place of Christ, and a congregation that could not tell the difference.

What This Book Will Do

This book does two things.

First, it answers the question in its title from Genesis to Revelation, in the words of the King James Bible. The next pages give the whole answer in twelve short statements that you can read in ten minutes. The chapters that follow explain each one. Every chapter opens with a short summary in plain words and closes with three questions that turn the teaching into action.

Second, it teaches you to recognize a false christ. Part Eight is written for this. It sets out what the Bible says about life, about children, about fasting, about the last days, about death, and about the voices that demand obedience. It ends with ten questions that any believer is free to ask of any preacher, and with a word for those who are grieving and for those who were led astray.

If you have only one evening, read The Plain Answer, and then read Part Eight.
