Tired of Religion

September 2, 2026

They draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but they have removed their heart far from Me, and their fear toward Me is taught by the commandment of men.

Isaiah 29:13

God has always had a problem with religion that isn't relationship. Long before "organized religion" was a phrase people used, He was already calling it out — a people who could recite Him perfectly and still be strangers to Him.

Here's what matters: your tiredness is not rebellion. It might actually be the Holy Spirit unsettling you on purpose. Sometimes what looks like drifting from God is really God pulling you out of a system and into Himself.

The remnant in every generation has always looked like a small group of people who got tired of the performance and decided to actually seek Him. Elijah thought he was the last one left — God told him there were seven thousand who hadn't bowed the knee to what everyone else had settled for. You are not alone, and you are not wrong for wanting more.

A Question to Sit With

What have you been performing that you actually want to be true?

Pray

Lord, I don't want to know about You anymore — I want to know You. Strip away what I've only been performing, and meet me in the place that's real. Lead me by Your Spirit, not by what I've been taught to repeat. I'm tired of religion. I want You.
